The branding of Saturnalia had to be all things Roman, celebrate the Saturn festival and reflect Christmas, whilst fitting in with existing branding of Corinium Ales. Easier said than done.

Depicting Roman soldiers in context with Christmas may seem like a perverse contradiction - given their notoriety against the Christians, however the ancient Roman festival of Saturnalia, celebrated on the 17 December to honour the God of Saturn, may have influenced this Christian celebration. Historical accuracy aside for a moment, making visual similarities was just too good to ignore.
